Postback URL Builder

Build a server-to-server (S2S) postback URL with the correct click-ID and payout macros for your tracker.

Your tracker
Your postback URL
https://track.yourdomain.com/postback?cid={clickid}&payout={payout}&txid={txid}

Voluum uses cid for the click ID. Give this URL to your affiliate network.

Formula: A server-to-server (S2S) postback fires when a conversion happens: the network calls your tracker's URL, passing back the click ID it originally received so the conversion is attributed to the right click.

FAQ

Postback URL Builder — questions

What is a postback URL?+

A postback URL is an address your tracker exposes so an affiliate network can report a conversion server-to-server. When a conversion fires, the network calls that URL with the click ID it originally received, and your tracker matches it back to the click that produced it.

How is S2S postback tracking different from a pixel?+

A pixel fires in the visitor’s browser, so it breaks with ad blockers, cookie restrictions and cross-domain redirects. A postback is a server-to-server call between the network and your tracker, so nothing depends on the browser — which is why it is the standard for affiliate conversion tracking.

Where do I paste the postback URL?+

In your affiliate network’s account settings, usually under Postback, S2S or Conversion Tracking — either globally or per offer. Replace the click-ID placeholder with the macro that network uses, since it differs between networks.

Which parameter does my tracker expect?+

Voluum uses cid, RedTrack uses clickid with sum for the payout, and Binom expects cnv_id. Pick your tracker above and the template updates with the right parameter names.

Should I pass the payout in the postback?+

Yes, whenever the network supports it. Passing the real payout per conversion instead of a fixed value keeps your revenue, ROI and ROAS figures accurate — especially on offers with variable or tiered payouts.
